What you're paying for

Where the dollars actually go.

  • Surgeon — there are perhaps eight surgeons in Seoul performing true deep-plane at international standard
  • Plane technique — SMAS plication is mid; SMAS flap is upper-mid; deep-plane is top tier
  • Neck integration — almost always recommended; rarely included in headline pricing
  • Anaesthesia time — 5–8 hours; longer cases price higher

Cost questions, answered

What's the difference between SMAS and deep-plane?

SMAS lifts the muscle layer with sutures or a partial flap. Deep-plane releases the muscle from underlying ligaments and repositions the entire facial unit — longer-lasting, more natural movement, much harder to perform.

How long do I need in Seoul?

16 nights is our standard: 2 pre-op, 2 in-clinic, 12 in our Gangnam recovery hotel through suture removal and the first lymphatic cycle.

When can I appear in public again?

Most patients are presentable for low-stakes social settings at week 3 with makeup. The full settling — true 'invisible scar' look — is at month 6.

Is deep-plane really worth the price difference?

If you intend this to be the only facelift you ever have, yes. SMAS results often soften within 5–7 years; deep-plane results sit naturally for 12–15.
